Hey Berliners! Here’s everything you need to know for your weekend August 21-24th
The weather is cooling off, and personally, I’m taking that as a sign to get outside and enjoy what’s left of summer. So if you’re out and about (like me) here are the best options we found for your weekend.

Exhibitions & Openings

FEMALE GAZE 2025
When: Opening Reception Friday August 22nd, 19:00 | Exhibition and performances until August 31st

FEMALE GAZE 2025 brings together an array of international artists, under the direction of Carolin Brandl. The artists explore bodies and their representation, the micropolitical power of gestures, (voyeuristic) viewing relations, and stereotypes, in which they decipher codes and common attributions.

Group Show: ‘Shifting Terrains. Beyond Black and White’
When: Opening Reception: Saturday, Aug. 23rd 18:00 | Exhibition until September 7th
Where: Kunstquartier Bethanien | Studio 1, Mariannenplatz 2, 10997 Berlin | Map
Shifting Terrains explores the increasing global social polarization and its interaction with technologies, bodies, and spaces. The artists present their observations on changes in the social fabric and the relationship between the individual and community, through an exhibition, film screenings and a live concert. More info.

Refuge Worldwide Open Air

S-Candalo at Berlin Beats

Summer is winding down so don't miss the third to last installation of Berlin Beats. This one features the 90s sounds and queer club energy of German/Colombian/Chilean sibling duo, S-Candalo. More info.

Silent Green Sommerfest

Free admission
Silent Green opens its doors for a day of free programming, featuring concerts, children's activities, and access to the Breathing Matters exhibition. Food and drink are available at MARS I Kitchen & Bar. A great pick for a family adventure! More info here.

Croissant Session #3

The third installation of Croissant Sessions takes place in the garden atmosphere at Café Bravo and the KW courtyard. This one features the music of Stimulus, DJ Jenesis & Trigger T from Swim Good, as well as free mini croissants if you get there early.

Orchestral Sessions Phase 2 - Works by Scelsi, Xenakis, Takemitsu, Caspi

Ever dreamt of hearing an orchestra in Berghain? Now's your chance to fulfill this unique dream! The Halle am Berghain is hosting the second Orchestral Sessions, featuring a full string orchestra and seventeen gongs. Expect works by Giacinto Scelsi, Iannis Xenakis, and Tōru Takemitsu’s Requiem, alongside a new piece by Berlin-based conductor and composer Avi Caspi, all performed in complete darkness. More info.

Paradise Garage at KitKat

Even in Berlin, one can tire of techno. So try out something different and head to Paradise Garage at KitKat, featuring a kinky colorful atmosphere, backed only by house music. Secret DJ lineup.

Pistachio Street Food Festival 2025

If you love pisatchio, or Italian food in general, make your way to JULES B-Part this weekend to expand your palette. Expect savory treats like pistachio tacos, empanadas, and panzerotti, as well as sweet classics like crepes, tiramisu, ice cream and much more. Also featuring cooking demos and DJs. More info.

Box Office Around the World

The Schlüterhof of Humboldt Forum opens for a second weekend of international box office hits, never before seen in Germany. This weekend features Vitoria (Brazil), Friend Zone (Vietnam), and The Red Envelope (Thailand). All movies feature English subtitles.

Rooftop Flea Market
When: Friday & Saturday August 22-23 17-22:00
Where: Gesundbrunnen Center | Badstraße 4, 13357 Wedding | Map
Entrance fee: 2€
The 5000 square-meter rooftop of the Gesundbrunnen Center is temporarily transformed into a flea market, featuring food, drinks and live music, as well as stalls filled with second-hand treasures. More info.

Dancing to house music and sipping wine slushies in the grass? It's not a mirage; it's the Nosh wine party happening at Malzfabrik. If you want a more sophisticated choice than the average open air, this is it.
