DITTRICH & SCHLECHTRIEM presents Julian Charrière’s sixth solo exhibition, Black Smoker: an immersive journey into the abyssal depths of the ocean where human presence dissolves into geological time. Continuing his exploration of environmental thresholds, Charrière transforms the gallery into a dark, sonic expanse alive with the elemental forces of underwater volcanoes and hydrothermal vents. The exhibition also features Spiral Economy, a sculptural vending machine confronting the myths of endless extraction, and new works from Midnight Zone, a haunting photographic series capturing fragile marine ecosystems under threat from deep-sea mining.

The exhibition and festival “Every Artist Must Take Sides – Resonances of Eslanda and Paul Robeson” at the Academy of Arts celebrates the visionary legacy of Eslanda Cardozo Goode Robeson and Paul Robeson: artists, activists, and thinkers who united art and politics in a global struggle against oppression. Drawing on the Paul Robeson Archive, founded 60 years ago in East Berlin, twelve contemporary artists engage with the couple’s enduring commitment to solidarity, freedom, and collective responsibility through sound, video, sculpture, and photography.

HOLON Berlin presents Lick the Walls to Understand Echoes: an immersive exhibition merging a psychoacoustic soundscape by Abigail Toll with interactive scenography and visuals by Anton Filatov. The audio-reactive installation expands on Toll’s conceptual vision for her forthcoming album Idol (Superpang), translating the physical and metaphysical resonance of sound into spatial experience. Lick the Walls to Understand Echoes reflects on the fading presence of symbols and rites in an age increasingly mediated by technology.

  • Kara Walker: ‘Kara Elizabeth Walker presents Dispatches from A— and the Museum of Half-remembered Histories’

Kara Walker, celebrated for her incisive and provocative visual language, continues to challenge and expand the boundaries of contemporary art. At Sprüth Magers, Berlin, Walker unveils a new series of cutout collages rendered in vivid ink and watercolor. Monumental in scale and rich in detail, these works extend her iconic silhouette practice into new chromatic and compositional territory, transforming the historical gravitas of history painting through texture, color, and form.

  • Ma-Makan Berlin Anniversary Week

Ma-Makan celebrates its third anniversary with a week-long series of events running from Wednesday to Sunday. Over the past three years, the beloved spot has become a hub for good food, warm community, and plenty of sambal and now it’s time to party. The celebrations kick off on Wednesday, November 12th, with a collaboration at Ari's, an anniversary raffle, and a Southeast Asian movie night, and a special children’s reading with The Panda Noodle on Saturday. The week culminates on Sunday, November 16th, with an all-you-can-eat buffet from 12–4pm (walk-ins only) and the final raffle draw. All proceeds from the anniversary raffle will go toward Ma-Makan’s Sambal distribution funds.

  • Viscose Journal Launch

The eighth issue of Viscose Journal explores the sonic dimensions of fashion. From the curated soundtracks of runways to the ambient atmospheres of shops and studios, SOUND investigates fashion as something heard as much as it is seen, tracing its rhythm, tone, and memory. The launch event at Rosegarden brings these ideas to life through a multisensory installation: Valentina Triet reimagines archival runway footage as pulsing fields of light and color, while a sound work by Seth Price deepens the dialogue between fashion, sound, and atmosphere.

  • Oh Wow Show at Liquidrom

Tonight, LIQUIDROM Berlin transforms into a stage of light, fantasy, and atmosphere for the OH WOW SHOW: a captivating experience where art and wellness merge. From the glowing walk acts and floating silk jellyfish to a mystical light performance that unfolds from the outer staircase to the warm saltwater pool, the evening promises a sensory journey through fog, color, and sound. Performances take place at 19:30, 20:30, and 21:30, with admission included in the regular spa rate.

  • Zeit für Zirkus - Nuit du Cirque

Zeit für Zirkus, the German edition of the European festival Nuit du Cirque, returns to Berlin from November 14–16, 2025, celebrating the vibrancy and diversity of contemporary circus. Bringing together more than 30 venues across the city, the nationwide initiative presents an expansive program of performances, workshops, exhibitions, parties, online events, and discussions, offering audiences a multifaceted glimpse into the creativity shaping today’s circus landscape.

  • Italian Film Festival

The Italian Film Festival returns to Berlin in 2025 for its twelfth edition, showcasing the vibrancy of contemporary Italian cinema. Around ten films will screen in competition, many of them premiering in Germany for the first time. Alongside the main selection, the festival presents a retrospective and a series of special events organized by Italy’s cultural and tourism promotion agency, creating a dialogue between new releases, film history, and the broader context of Italy’s cinematic landscape.
