Openings & Exhibitions

David Horvitz: ‘At the limits of the city’
Ali Eyal: ‘Let Them Say Something’
When: Opening, Saturday, 22 November 18-21:00
Exhibition until January 7, 2026
Where: ChertLüdde | Hauptstraße 18, 10827 Schöneberg | Map
David Horvitz, the Los Angeles–based artist known for bending time, and perception through conceptual works across digital and physical media, brings his practice to Berlin in At the limits of the city at ChertLüdde, where he transposes the borders and spirit of Los Angeles into the gallery. The exhibition opens with Other People, a room of over 300 portraits generated by facial-recognition searches for “David Horvitz”. Throughout the space, sculptures cast from apartment keys traded for keys to the garden, mirrors, and small ritual-like objects engage with the everyday acts that shape a sense of place, while a suspended line of chimes (Lullaby for a Landscape - 2017)plays a regional German lullaby when activated by visitors, echoing Horvitz’s fascination with cycles of night and day, disappearance and transition.

The project spans multiple venues and unfolds through a programme by Neun Kelche, alpha nova & galerie futura, and artist Lillian Morrissey. Centering intersectional FLINTA* voices, it confronts the rising anti-feminist and LGBTQIA+-phobic backlash shaping right-wing politics, building counter-publics and alliances inspired by activist Ewa Majewska.
